CSM Robotics Team, the Talons, finished 28th in tournament play, 5th in programming skills, and 4th in Robot Driver skills ahead of top U.S. engineering schools' teams from Purdue University, University of Florida, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

CSM is a leader in the Southern Maryland community working with K-12, businesses and organizations to create viable and sustainable socio-economic solutions through innovative partnerships.

Our region is comprised of mostly small businesses, and one of the next transformative approaches will be to develop an Entrepreneur and Innovation Institute creating an environment to help students, start-ups, and businesses accelerate, innovate and grow. This Institute will ignite existing and new opportunities by bringing together students and the business community, mentoring, conferences, showcases, and roundtables. It will be staffed by a recognized entrepreneur/innovator.

In addition, this fund will support critical initiatives, programs and activities that promote partnerships with K-12 and four-year colleges to ensure that a variety of: 1) outreach programs are offered to expose youth to higher education and; 2) services and activities are available to help CSM students complete their goals and transfer to four-year colleges with ease.

This fund will allow the college to lead the community in promoting and helping entrepreneurs and partners grow, thrive, and succeed in innovative and stimulating ways.
